Baghichhari upazila of Rangamati district. The Sajek Valley is located on the Mizoram
border of the northern part of Rangamati district. Tripura of India is bounded
on the north by Sajek, Langadu of Rangamati on the south, Mizoram of India on
the east, Dighinala of Khagrachari on the west. Sajek is the largest union in
Bangladesh; Its size is 12 square miles.

here. Sajek's BGB Camp is the highest altitude BGB camp in Bangladesh. Under

Sajek Valley Height

district headquarters to Sajek is about 70 km. And about 49 km from Dighinala.

Khagrachari.

Sajek is a union of the Baghaichari Upazila of Rangamati district of Bangladesh. The size of the Sajek Union is 4,37,760 acres (1771.55 sq km). It is the largest union of Rangamati district even in Baghaichhari upazila. According to the figures of 2011, the population of the Sajek Union is 23,205. Of these, 23,205 are male and 12,743 are 10,462 female.

The Sajek Union is located across the northern part of Baghichhari upazila. The distance from the upazila headquarters to the union is about 65 km. Baghaichhari is an upazila in
Rangamati district of Bangladesh. The total area of Baghaichari Upazila is
1931.28 sq km, and it is the second largest upazila in Bangladesh and the
largest upazila in Rangamati district. Located in Baghaichari upazila across
the longitude from 23°04 to 23°44 north latitude and from 92°05 to 92°24 east
of Rangamati district.

administrative area of Chittagong Division, located in the southeast of

According
to the statistics of 20, the total population of Rangamati district is 6,
20,214. Of these, the males were 3,25,823 and females 2,94,391.

the total population is Muslim, 5.30% Hindu, 56.06% Buddhist, and 1.82%
Christian and other religions.

district has indigenous people living in Chakma, Marma, Tanchangya, Bom, Chak,

Rangamatidistrict is located in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh from 22 ° 27 to 23

from the Chittagong Divisional Headquarters.
The district is bounded by Bandarban district on the south,
Chittagong district and Khagrachari district on the west, Tripura province of
India on the north and Mizoram province of India and Chin province of Myanmar
in the east. It is the only district in Bangladesh with two borders between
India and Myanmar.
Establishment of Rangamati District:
Rangamati,
Khagrachari and Bandarban - the Chittagong Hill Tracts District was created on 1860
June 20. Before the creation of the district it was named Corpus Mahal. In 1981
bandorban and 1983 khagrasory divided from Chittagong district. Rangamati, the main part of the Chittagong
Hill Tracts district, is known as the Hill District. Chakma Circle Chief is in
Rangamati Hill District in the traditional revenue collection system. Chakma
King is the Chief of the Constitutional Chakma Circle.
Rivers:
The
main river in Rangamati district is Karnafuli. The river originates from the
Lusai Hills of India and Rangamati enters the area through the northeast border
at the mouth of the Thega River. The tributaries of the Karnaphuli River are
Kachalong, Maini, Chengi, Thegga, Sarva, Rayangkhan. Besides, this district is
the largest Kaptai Lake in Bangladesh.
These tributaries have enough rainfall
during the monsoon, but in the dry season, there is almost no water supply.

In
Rangamati district, the farming is done on the hills in the zoom system. The
major crops grown in this district are paddy, jute, potato, cotton, maize, and
mustard. The district also has a large number of fruit and forest orchards,

is the official language in Sajek Valley Khagrachari area. The locals speak Chittagong's regional language. Also known
as the language of other small ethnic groups are Chakma, Marma, Mro, Tripura,
Bom, Lusai, Tanchangya, Chak, Khyang, Khumi, Pangkhua.
The
main religious festival of Chakmas in the Highlands is the Biju Festival. The
last two days of Chaitra Samiti and the first of the month of Bangla month are
the Bijhu festival, which is held for three days.
